Hall of Fame Induction Process and Guidelines
The Sports Museum’s mission is to honor individuals, teams, and organizations prominent in the history of Ukrainian sports. The Hall of Fame’s goal is to celebrate the accomplishments and achievements of the most decorated, successful, and dedicated members our cultural sports community has to offer. The Sports Museum and Hall of Fame depends on the generosity of the Ukrainian community throughout the world to continue its goal of bringing together a priceless collection of sports memories and memorabilia and honoring the legacy of athletes, coaches, referees, and powerful individuals of Ukrainian origin or descent. The Hall of Fame brings together the builders, the amateur athletes, the Olympians and the professional athletes who have excelled for a long period of time in sports.
Each year’s Candidate Review Committee has the privilege of including several inductees, and their personal insights into each year’s nominees, which offer very powerful testimonials to the strength of the ties that sport creates within the Ukrainian diaspora community. There is strong competition among the nominees to identify who would become part of each incoming Hall of Fame Class, as many individuals are nominated with decades of service to their sport and to their community. Individuals are reviewed under several categories: Professional Athletes, Olympic Athletes, Amateur Athletes, Builders, and Legacy. Ukrainian Club Teams and teams with strong Ukrainian leadership and representation are also considered based on their accomplishments.
- The Hall of Fame is part of the Museum whereby the Honored Inductees’ names will be displayed.

Athletes of Days Gone By
Sport Athletes of years past who played prior to the development of television and movies, and where there is no documentation of their talents, may be inducted by the Board of Directors. We honor them as true trailblazers who overcame many obstacles, both on the fields of play and off, to achieve athletic greatness and paved the way for many who followed in their footsteps.

Every time I went away I was deceiving my mom. I’d tell her I was going to school but I’d be out on the street playing football. I always had a ball on my feet.
