The Ukrainian Sports Museum and Hall of Fame regretfully advises its members, visitors and guests that it is has temporarily suspended its public openings until further notice. We will post notices once public displays resume operation.
The Museum suffered significant water damage when the water pipes burst at the facility housing its displays. Thankfully, many of the exhibits were saved and are currently in the process of restoration and cleaning. Unfortunately, many wooden display cases and honoree plaques were damaged and will need to be replaced. Museum officials are exploring the timing and costs for this process.
Anyone interested in assisting in this restoration, or in the operations of the Ukrainian Sports Museum and the Hall of Fame in general, is welcome to contact USMHOF. Tax deductible contributions are always encouraged, as are inquiries into our Donor Programs. Please contact Board Director Bohdan Porytko at [email protected] to initiate communications.
The Ukrainian Sports Museum and Hall of Fame is celebrating its tenth year. It was founded in 2015 to commemorate the sports achievements of those in the United States and Canada who were of Ukrainian descent. Achievements are honored at the Professional, Olympic and Amateur levels, and at the community-based levels that enrich the life of the “Hromada”. More recently, operations were expanded worldwide and in cooperation with the Ukrainian Olympic Committee to include honorees and exhibits from Ukraine as well. The current turmoil in Ukraine spurred its national sports organizations to seek safe haven locations to ensure the continuity of its legacies. USMHOF is proud to be part of that work.
USMHOF reflects the rich diversity of Ukrainian sportsmen and women. Honorees and exhibits include participants from hockey, basketball, gymnastics, soccer, baseball, football, boxing, track & field, volleyball, curling, rowing, and many more fields of athleticism. Exhibits range from Klitschko’s autographed boxing gloves, Gretzky’s signed jersey, Bubka’s world record vaulting pole, many Mike Ditka Superbowl game worn and signed game jerseys, sports cards, game pucks, Olympic uniforms and many more irreplaceable and one-of-a-kind memorabilia.
